Holy Week Devotions

There will be devotions for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Note:  All Events listed on the calendar have been canceled due to COVID 19.

Jesus reminded us of our need for him and his life giving words when he said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NIV) COVID – 19 doesn’t negate that need.  It enhances it.  Temptations to our faith will be a part of the many challenges that we will address as Christians as we cope with the challenges of the COVID pandemic.

Hearing the Word
Here are some links that you can use to hear the word via the internet or TV.  We will have to address ways to get sermons to those who do not have access to these resources.  One suggestion is to make regular use of Meditations and Forward in Christ.  It is my hope that we can in some way provide printed sermons to the members of Good Shepherd.

The link below is to the live 9:00 a service at Mt. Olive, Appleton. a recording of that service and other recentservices will be available at the same link after the service is over,

The link below is to St. Andrews in Middleton online worship service from 3/18/2020. It's about 33 minutes and is a nice opportunity to view at home on your computers or smart TVs.

The Lord’s Supper
We will be working on ways for the members of Good Shepherd to  receive the Lord’s Supper in the coming weeks.
OFFERINGSThe Apostle Paul never had to deal with COVID 19.  But he did understand the need for Christians  to support each  other and the Lord’s work. He gave the following advice to the Corinthians.  It’s good advice always but especially relevant now.
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. 1 Corinthians 16:2 NIV
Finally my friends, know that you are in my prayers as the Lord enables with the strength to lift you up to him in prayer.
God's Word Is Our Great Heritage (CW 293)
God's Word is our great heritage
And shall be ours forever;
To spread its light from age to age
Shall be our chief endeavor.
Through life it guides our way;
In death it is our stay.
Lord, grant, while worlds endure,
We keep its teachings pure
Throughout all generations.

Dear Friend;
     I’d like to introduce you to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
     Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a place where you and your family can find direction and meaning for life as you grow in God’s grace.  Our congregation is committed to sharing the timeless truths of God’s Word as they apply to our lives today and for eternity.
     Good Shepherd Lutheran is a member of the
Wisconsin Evangelical Synod; a church body known for its faithfulness to God’s Word, for Christian Education as well as for its world-wide mission programs and activities.  Good Shepherd has been serving the families of Plymouth and the surrounding area for over 40 years.
     We are a growing congregation with families and individuals of all ages.  And we offer a variety of opportunities for individuals of all ages to grow in their understanding of God’s word and his blessings for you.
     At Good Shepherd Lutheran we want everyone to understand that Jesus is their Good Shepherd who offered his life on the cross as a payment for their sins.  He rose from the dead on Easter Sunday and 40 days later he returned to heaven in glory.  He will come again to take all who believe in him to live with him eternally.

Psalm 23 NIV

The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
